Who We Are

MMSP (March Madness Survivor Pool) is a web application for playing a stat-based NCAA March Madness survivor pool game. We are not affiliated with the NCAA or ESPN.

Data We Collect

When you register and use MMSP, we collect the following information:

• Full name — used to identify you within the pool
• Email address — used for account management and notifications
• Username — used for account login
• Push notification tokens — collected if you opt in to browser push notifications, used to send game and pool updates via Firebase
• Timezone — detected automatically from your browser to display game times correctly
• Referral source — the referral code (if any) present in your registration link, used to track how you heard about MMSP

How We Use Your Data

• Account creation, authentication, and session management
• Displaying your picks, stats, and results to other pool participants
• Sending push notifications about game updates and pool results (only if you opt in)
• Administering prizes and communicating with winners

Third-Party Services

We use Firebase (Google) to deliver push notifications. If you opt in to notifications, your browser's push token is sent to Firebase. Firebase's privacy policy applies to that data: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

No other personal data is shared with third parties.

Prizes and Payments

Prize coordination (e.g., payment via Venmo or similar services) happens outside of MMSP directly between the winner and the administrator. Payment details are not collected or stored by this site.

Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to administer ongoing pools. Historical pick and result data may be retained indefinitely for leaderboard and recap purposes.

Your Rights

You may request that your account and associated personal data be deleted at any time by contacting the site administrator. Upon request, we will remove your account and personal information from our systems, though anonymized historical game data (picks, results) may be retained.
